Uzbekistan to consider raising pay for highly qualified teachers

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with proposals aimed at improving the quality of school education and the qualifications of pedagogues.

The interest and learning achievements of students in subjects largely depend on the knowledge and skills of their educators. Thus, conditions are being created for enhancing the qualifications of pedagogues and continuously improving the evaluation system.

Officials first provided information on this matter. It was noted that a new procedure based on advanced technologies had been implemented during the attestation. Over 190,000 teachers participated in it, with the category being raised for 51,000 of them.

The continuous encouragement of skilled and inquisitive teachers in schools was underlined as important.

A proposal was presented to increase the monthly salary for teachers with the highest and first qualification categories starting from September 2025.

A separate program has been developed for teachers who did not pass the attestation or lacked experience, providing them with instructions for increasing their qualifications.

Full use of the resources of professional development centers and pedagogical colleges for this purpose is essential. Accordingly, based on the experience of the President's School, it has been determined to implement a system at the Abdulla Avloni National Research Institute for the advanced training of kindergarten and school leaders and pedagogues every five years.

The task of transferring 11 pedagogical colleges in the regions to the management of the Professional Development Centers and attracting trainers from abroad has been set.
