State Security Service intercepts illegal land sales operations across multiple regions
The State Security Service (SSS) has prevented illegal land sales in the Fergana, Samarkand, and Kashkadarya regions.
In a joint operation conducted by the SSS Fergana Regional Department and the internal affairs agencies, an individual from the Uchkoprik district was apprehended. This individual had arranged to sell 1,200 square meters of land plot, mortgaged by a commercial bank in Fergana city and owned by an LLC specializing in textile production, for $130,000. He was caught red-handed after receiving an advance payment of $109,000.
Similarly, the SSS Samarkand Regional Department, in collaboration with the Regional Department for Combating Economic Crimes, conducted a swift operation. A resident of Urgut District was detained for attempting to sell 5,000 sq. m. of irrigated land from a grain-specialized farm for $80,000. The individual claimed he could arrange the necessary documents through his contacts in the cadastre office and was caught with $30,000 of the agreed amount.
In another operation, the SSS Kashkadarya Regional Department, along with the Regional Department for Combating Economic Crimes, apprehended the deputy head of the agricultural department of Karshi District’s administration. This official demanded $10,000, and received $5,000, in exchange for securing a 25-hectare plot of reserve land for livestock purposes through his influential contacts in the district administration.
Criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and investigations are currently underway.
