Paris 2024: Hasanboy Dusmatov wins gold, becomes two-time Olympic champion

Uzbek boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov secured his second Olympic gold medal after defeating France's Billal Bennama in the final match of the men’s 51 kg boxing category at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
This victory not only earned Dusmatov his second Olympic title—his first being at Rio 2016—but also brought Uzbekistan its third gold medal at the Paris Games.
Dusmatov’s win over Bennama was decisive, solidifying his status as one of Uzbekistan’s top athletes. With this victory, Uzbekistan's Olympic team now holds a total of three gold and two bronze medals, marking a successful campaign in Paris.
It should be recalled that a little earlier, Ulugbek Rashitov bagged gold in taekwondo, becoming a two-time Olympic champion, with his first gold earned in Tokyo 2020.
