Citizen of Uzbekistan arrested in Lithuania for attempted SUV smuggling
The driver, whose truck trailer contained three Toyota Land Cruisers, claimed he was unaware of the hidden cargo.

At the "Medininkai" customs post in Lithuania, customs officials detained a MAN truck driven by a citizen of Uzbekistan, according to the press service of the customs authorities.
The driver claimed he was transporting a shipment of toilet paper weighing 720 kg. However, upon a detailed inspection of the trailer, where boxes of toilet paper were stacked in the rear, three vehicles were discovered.
It is noted that the driver was very surprised by the discovery and insisted that he knew nothing about the hidden cargo.
In total, three Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs were found, which were being illegally smuggled from Lithuania to Uzbekistan. The vehicles are valued at 87,000 euros.
A pre-trial investigation into smuggling has been initiated under part 3 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Lithuania. The offender faces a fine or imprisonment for up to eight years. The man has been placed under travel restrictions and had his documents confiscated.
