Shavkat Mirziyoyev pledges continued support for entrepreneurs, highlights economic growth amid challenges
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev affirmed his support for entrepreneurs during a meeting with the business community in Nukus.
"Never get tired of creating innovations and showing initiative. I am always ready to support you and create even more favorable conditions!" the president stated.
It was noted that the widespread changes occurring throughout the country can clearly be seen in the example of Karakalpakstan.
Despite the current challenging and uncertain times, the economy continues to grow steadily, as acknowledged by authoritative international organizations and foreign leaders.
The president highlighted that many compatriots are running businesses in developed countries and achieving significant success, making the country known abroad.
More than 40 such "patriotic" business representatives are participating in today’s meeting.
Recently, 37 leading business figures were awarded orders and medals, and 104 received the "Active Entrepreneur" badge.
The president congratulated them and expressed sincere gratitude on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire nation for their dedicated work.
More than 700 questions, initiatives, and new projects raised by entrepreneurs were supported, with an additional 8 trillion sums allocated. Another 18 trillion UZS are directed towards the development of industry, agriculture, services, and entrepreneurial infrastructure.
Most importantly, a new support system has been introduced, covering everything from micro-projects at the neighborhood level to mega-projects.
Previously, due to issues with loans, market searches, infrastructure, and constant inspections, 60% of new entrepreneurs ceased operations within the first year.
Currently, the share of businesses operating for more than three years has reached 76%, marking the first time it has reached 300,000.
This year, the turnover of entrepreneurs increased by 25% compared to the previous year, reaching 986 trillion UZS.
The number of medium-sized enterprises with annual turnovers between 10 billion UZS and 100 billion UZS has doubled.
The number of large enterprises with turnovers exceeding 100 billion UZS has exceeded 2,200, also doubling compared to the previous year.
