Tashkent man sentenced for illegal crypto sales on Telegram
On October 23, 2024, the Chilanzar District Court of Tashkent reviewed the case of an individual, H.S., who was charged with violating Article 155-4, Part 1, of the Administrative Code. The violation involved engaging in illegal crypto transactions through the "Wallet" section of the Telegram messaging platform.

The investigation revealed that H.S. had been using an iPhone 7 Plus to conduct unauthorized cryptocurrency exchanges on October 10, 2024. This discovery came after a swift operation by the officers of the Tashkent Department for Combating Economic Crimes. H.S. admitted to the offense during the court session and expressed regret for his actions. He claimed that he was unaware of the legal procedures surrounding cryptocurrency trading and asked the court for leniency, vowing not to repeat such actions in the future.
As part of the ruling, the court ordered the destruction of the iPhone 7 Plus used in the illegal transactions in accordance with legal procedures. H.S. was sentenced to 10 days of administrative detention under Article 155-4, Part 1, for conducting illegal cryptocurrency-related activities.
This case highlights the importance of complying with legal frameworks in digital financial transactions and serves as a reminder of the strict measures in place against unauthorized cryptocurrency activities in Uzbekistan.
