Javlon Yunusov, a suspect in the October assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov, former head of the Presidential Administration’s Information Policy Department, has been apprehended in South Korea and extradited to Uzbekistan, according to the Prosecutor General's Office.

The case, initiated following the October 26 attack in Qibray district, Tashkent region, involved two unidentified individuals firing multiple gunshots at a moving Range Rover carrying Allamjonov. The official and his companions were unharmed.

Investigations have identified seven individuals linked to the crime. Of these:

  • Five suspects have been detained in Uzbekistan.
  • Two were declared wanted, including Yunusov, who was arrested in South Korea, and another suspect located in Kazakhstan.

Searches of suspects' residences and vehicles yielded critical evidence, aiding the investigation. The Prosecutor General's Office stated that Yunusov’s arrest and subsequent extradition were facilitated by international cooperation.
