SSS issues charges and search warrant for citizen of Uzbekistan in Syria
A 30-year-old man from Uzbekistan has been conducting propaganda on social media from the Syrian city of Idlib. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that a criminal case has been opened against him on charges of undermining the constitutional order, engaging in terrorist activities, and other offenses. The social media pages he manages are banned in Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Service (SSS) has initiated a criminal case under several articles of the Criminal Code, including: "training or movement for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities" (Article 155-2), "undermining the constitutional order of the Republic of Uzbekistan" (Article 159), "illegal departure from or entry into Uzbekistan" (Article 223), and "creating or leading prohibited organizations, or participating in them" (Article 244-2). A search warrant has been issued for him.
The Ministry's statement further explains: "In 2016, H.N. went to Russia as a labor migrant, where he fell under the influence of international terrorist organizations and later traveled to Syria's Idlib. As a result of the propaganda he conducted from there, several Uzbek citizens participated in combat and lost their lives. Currently, H.N. continues to incite jihad through social media platforms and the YouTube video hosting service, giving a religious justification to his criminal actions."
The Ministry also emphasized that the social media pages he manages are banned in Uzbekistan, and maintaining, distributing, or promoting them could result in criminal liability.
