Ravshan Usmanov becomes Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Iceland
Ravshan Usmanov, who serves as Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, presented his credentials to Iceland’s President, Halla Tómasdóttir.
During the meeting, the President of Iceland emphasized that the appointment of Uzbekistan’s ambassador to her country for the first time in the history of bilateral relations is a clear reflection of the open and pragmatic foreign policy pursued by Uzbekistan's President in recent years.
The two leaders exchanged views on the prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to advancing ties in trade, economics, culture, and tourism.
The Icelandic president highlighted the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration in sectors such as energy, high technologies and digitalization, fisheries, tourism, and environmental protection.
In conclusion, Halla Tómasdóttir wished prosperity and continued development to Uzbekistan’s leadership and people, and expressed success to Ambassador Usmanov in his efforts to foster and expand bilateral relations.
It’s worth noting that in November 2023, Ravshan Usmanov officially began his duties as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
