National Guard lieutenant arrested while taking $5,500 bribe

Law enforcement officers have detained the commander of a security unit within the National Guard’s Tashkent department, Senior Lieutenant T.A.
Gaining the trust of a citizen, the officer promised to secure a job for his acquaintance in the National Guard through high-ranking colleagues.
He was apprehended in the parking lot of the "Ekobozor" shopping complex in the Mirabad district while receiving $5,500 in exchange for his services.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. He has been placed in pre-trial detention, and an investigation is underway.
