Samarkand to host Central Asia–Gulf Summit on May 5
The Summit of Central Asian countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will be held on May 5 in Samarkand. This was announced by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, following the third meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the “Central Asia–GCC” strategic dialogue.

According to Saidov, the upcoming summit will mark an important milestone in strengthening ties between the two regions.
The first summit in this format was held in July 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The GCC includes six countries: Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar.
