Customs posts serving Uzbek enclaves in Kyrgyzstan move to 24-hour regime
Starting from June 18, the border checkpoints leading to the Uzbek enclaves of Sokh and Shohimardon will operate around the clock. This decision is aimed at ensuring smoother and more convenient movement for citizens and reducing congestion at the checkpoints.

According to the State Customs Committee, the “Fergana” border customs post, the “Oq Qiya” customs point near the village of Shohimardon, and the “Chashma” customs point at the “Sokh” border post will all shift to a 24/7 operational schedule beginning June 18.
The Fergana Regional Administration has also announced that the “Vodil-Qadamjay” border checkpoint will join this round-the-clock working regime.
“These measures are being introduced to create more favorable conditions for citizens traveling to Shohimardon village in Fergana district and to Sokh district, to make movement freer and more convenient, and to prevent traffic congestion at the checkpoints,” the regional administration stated.
For reference, Sokh and Shohimardon are Uzbek enclaves located within the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2024, the “Fergana” and “Oq Qiya” border customs posts at the entrance to Shohimardon were already transitioned to 24-hour operations. This was implemented as part of the agreements reached during the meeting between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in Tashkent.
