Mirziyoyev and Putin discuss further strengthening trade and economic ties
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on July 8.
During the conversation, the sides addressed key issues related to the further development and strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia, according to the presidential press service.
Special attention was given to the practical implementation of high-level agreements, particularly in the trade and economic sphere.
The leaders emphasized the importance of continuing coordinated efforts and effective interagency cooperation to increase trade turnover, advance industrial cooperation projects in priority sectors, expand productive regional contacts, and intensify cultural, humanitarian, and educational exchanges. They also underscored the need for thorough preparation and effective outcomes for the second meeting of the Interregional Cooperation Council between the two countries, scheduled for this autumn.
The presidents also exchanged views on international issues and reviewed the schedule of upcoming events.
