Former Education Minister Hilola Umarova becomes Deputy Head of Presidential Administration

Five new deputies have been appointed to assist Saida Mirziyoyeva, the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.

Hilola Umarova has been appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration in charge of education reform. In connection with this appointment, she has been relieved of her duties as Minister of Preschool and School Education.

Umarova had served as minister since December 2022.

According to a presidential decree, four other individuals have also been appointed as deputy heads of the Presidential Administration:

  • Tamila Aliyeva has been appointed Deputy Head for Healthcare Reform.
  • Timur Butunboev has been appointed Deputy Head for Water Supply System Reform. He previously served as First Deputy Minister of Water Resources.
  • Nodira Hakimova has been appointed Deputy Head for Judicial System Reform.
  • Sherzod Ozodzoda has been appointed Deputy Head for Entrepreneurship Projects. As a result, he has been relieved of his previous post as Head of the Department for Developing Key Economic and Entrepreneurial Initiatives under the Presidential Administration.

Additionally, Dilnoza Ziyamukhamedova has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Head of the Presidential Administration. Prior to this, she served as Chief of Staff to a Presidential Advisor.
