Uzbekistan’s car market sees growing competition as Chevrolet share drops
In the first nine months of 2025, Chevrolet-branded cars accounted for 83 percent of all new vehicle sales in Uzbekistan – down from 89 percent during the same period in 2024. The best-selling model was the Cobalt, followed by the Damas and the Tracker.
According to a report prepared by Uzavtosanoat JSC, a total of 296,331 vehicles were sold in Uzbekistan between January and September 2025.
During the reporting period, the country’s main car manufacturers delivered the following numbers of vehicles to customers:
- UzAuto Motors – 141,304 units
- Khorezm Auto – 103,837 units
- ADM Jizzakh – 32,987 units
- BYD Uzbekistan Factory – 16,846 units
- Asaka Motors – 937 units
- SamAuto – 341 units
- Alyans Auto – 79 units
For comparison, in the same period of 2024, sales of Chevrolet vehicles totaled 303,373 units – about 26,000 more than this year.
The domestic market shares of automobile manufacturers in 2025 were as follows:
- UzAuto Motors – 47.7%
- Khorezm Auto – 35%
- ADM Jizzakh – 11.1%
- BYD Uzbekistan Factory – 5.7%
- Asaka Motors – 0.3%
- SamAuto – 0.1%
- Alyans Auto – 0.03%
The Cobalt remained the top-selling model, with 95,362 units sold during the reporting period. It was followed by Damas (78,712 units) and Tracker (27,921 units). Buyers also ordered 25,129 units of the Labo model.
For reference, in 2024 Uzbekistan saw a total of 402,391 vehicles sold, including:
- UzAuto Motors – 353,730 units (87.9%)
- ADM Jizzakh – 30,329 units (7.5%)
- BYD Uzbekistan Factory – 17,132 units (4.3%)
- Asaka Motors – 489 units (0.1%)
- Jizzakh Auto – 394 units (0.1%)
- SamAuto – 317 units (0.1%)
