Shavkat Mirziyoyev departs for U.S. to attend C5+1 summit

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has departed for the United States on an official working visit at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump. The visit follows Shavkat Mirziyoyev's trip to Qatar, where he was seen off from Doha’s Hamad International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other officials.

During his stay in Washington, President Mirziyoyev is scheduled to meet with President Trump and participate in the “C5+1” summit, which brings together leaders of Central Asian nations and the United States to discuss regional cooperation.

According to the visit’s agenda, President Mirziyoyev will also hold meetings with members of the U.S. Congress, including representatives from the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as with heads of key government departments and agencies.

Talks will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, with particular attention to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and humanitarian fields. The discussions will also address deepening regional collaboration between Central Asia and the United States within the C5+1 framework.

As part of the business program, meetings and events are planned with executives of leading American companies and financial institutions. The visit is expected to result in the signing of several bilateral and multilateral agreements aimed at furthering Uzbekistan–U.S. cooperation.
