Uzbekistan, U.S. Eximbank agree to deepen cooperation on major projects
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the head of the U.S. Export-Import Bank (Eximbank), John Jovanovic, in Washington D.C. on November 6 to discuss ways to expand financial cooperation across strategic sectors.
During the talks, the sides reviewed prospects for partnership under a joint program aimed at funding major projects in energy, critical minerals, transport, agriculture, and information technology.
President Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of Eximbank’s role in supporting U.S. companies abroad through insurance, guarantees, and credit instruments. He emphasized that Uzbekistan is ready to deepen collaboration with the institution on projects that align with the country’s modernization goals.

A key focus of the meeting was Eximbank’s potential participation in upgrading Uzbekistan’s aircraft fleet and supplying Boeing planes. Both sides agreed to continue practical cooperation and draft a long-term partnership roadmap.
At the conclusion of the meeting, in the presence of President Mirziyoyev, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Eximbank exchanged an agreement on financing joint projects.
