According to the regional administration’s press service, the office was launched during the Tashkent regional delegation’s working visit to the United States, led by regional governor Zoyir Mirzayev.

The main goal of the visit is to develop Tashkent region’s international economic relations, attract foreign investment, and create new opportunities for bilateral trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

“The new representative office serves as an important platform for widely promoting the region’s economic, cultural and tourism potential in the United States, as well as for establishing direct dialogue with American business partners,” the report said.

Several joint projects across multiple sectors are planned between Tashkent region and the city of Hollywood. The representative office is expected to provide practical support to entrepreneurs and exporters seeking access to the U.S. market and help create stronger links between business circles.

As reported earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a decree establishing the U.S.–Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council. The agreement to create the council was reached during the president’s 4–6 November visit to the United States for the C5+1 summit. Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration, became the co-chair of the council. The two countries will begin drafting a bilateral agreement on the promotion and protection of investments. A position of the Presidential Administration’s representative in the United States will also be introduced.

Uzbekistan additionally plans to open new consulates in U.S. cities with large Uzbek diaspora communities – Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando and Seattle. Besides strengthening ties with compatriots, these consulates will work to expand cooperation between the two countries.

In 2024, Tashkent region opened a representative office in Anhui Province, China, where the two sides signed agreements on implementing medical and industrial park projects worth $400 million.
