Burundi appoints its first ambassador to Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan has officially accredited the first ambassador of the Republic of Burundi, marking a new step in diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received Ambassador Joseph Nkurunziza in Tashkent on Wednesday.
“We were pleased to accept the credentials of the first ambassador of Burundi to Uzbekistan, Joseph Nkurunziza,” Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel. “Our discussions were productive and forward-looking, focusing on the growing potential for cooperation between our countries. We also exchanged views on strengthening interaction within international and regional organizations.”
“We wish the ambassador great success in his work in our country,” he added.
For reference, Uzbekistan and Burundi established diplomatic relations on 24 September 2024.
