Uzbekistan plans to purchase aviation fuel from Kuwait
Uzbekistan and Kuwait have agreed to expand economic cooperation across several areas.

The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, paid a working visit to Kuwait on 13–15 December to take part in a meeting of the intergovernmental commission. He also held talks with representatives of the government, the business community, and financial institutions.
The meetings were attended by Minister of Oil and Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation Tareq Sulaiman Al-Roumi, as well as Minister of Commerce and Industry Khalifa Al-Ajeel. The sides discussed cooperation in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors, as well as logistics and trade.
One of the key topics was Kuwait’s supply of aviation fuel to Uzbek air carriers, along with expanding exports of fruits and vegetables. The parties plan to pursue mutual recognition of standards and accreditation of laboratories for certification purposes.
Subaih Abdulaziz Abdul Mohsen Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, discussed with Kudratov the deepening of investment cooperation and trade. The establishment of a development fund titled “Gulf Countries – Central Asia Union” was also on the agenda.
Al-Mukhaizeem highlighted opportunities for partnership in green energy, agriculture, and food security. He also stressed the importance of cooperation in the digital sphere and the development of artificial intelligence, as well as in science and education.
According to The Times Kuwait, Kudratov expressed interest in expanding ties in petrochemicals and construction. A trade representative of Uzbekistan will begin work in Kuwait to help businesses from both countries establish contacts and access markets.
Kudratov also announced the launch of pilot shipments of goods from Samarkand to Kuwait along a route that takes 15 days. An alternative route via Iranian ports on the Caspian Sea could reduce delivery time to 7–8 days, he said.
In addition, the minister took part in the Uzbek–Kuwaiti Business Forum and held a series of meetings with representatives of companies in e-commerce, Islamic finance, construction, and healthcare. Several bilateral documents were signed following the visit.
