Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay official visit to Japan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Japan on December 18–20 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and will take part in the first Central Asia + Japan summit.

According to the visit program, meetings and talks are scheduled in Tokyo with Emperor Naruhito of Japan, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, the leadership of parliament, members of the government, representatives of political parties, and rectors of leading universities.

The agenda will focus on further expanding and deepening the Uzbekistan–Japan strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.

As part of the business program, meetings and events are planned with the participation of executives from major Japanese companies and financial institutions. The discussions will center on expanding trade and economic cooperation and advancing investment projects. A substantial package of bilateral documents is expected to be adopted.

The President of Uzbekistan will also attend the first summit of heads of state of the Central Asia + Japan dialogue. Within the framework of the event, participants will discuss prospects for cooperation in priority areas, including the green economy and sustainable development, connectivity and the strengthening of regional partnership, as well as human capital development.

The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Tokyo Declaration.
