Data covering January–September 2025 show that the number of international tourists visiting Uzbekistan increased by 73 percent compared with the same period in 2019. This result places the country among the top seven destinations globally in terms of tourism growth over the period.

Only a handful of countries recorded stronger growth than Uzbekistan. Bhutan led the ranking with a 203 percent increase, followed by Qatar at 138 percent, El Salvador at 88 percent, Albania at 83 percent, and Bahrain at 76 percent.

The World Tourism Organization noted that Uzbekistan’s performance reflects a significant recovery and expansion of inbound tourism since the pre-pandemic period, positioning the country as one of the most dynamic tourism markets worldwide.

In addition to long-term growth, Uzbekistan also demonstrated solid year-on-year progress. During the first nine months of 2025, the number of international tourists increased by 13 percent compared with the same period in 2024.

This figure ranks as the fourth-highest growth rate in the European region, trailing only Israel, which recorded a 23 percent increase, Finland with 15 percent, and Norway with 14 percent.

The strong performance highlights Uzbekistan’s growing appeal to international travelers and underscores the impact of ongoing efforts to promote tourism, improve infrastructure, and expand global connectivity.
