Donald Trump to invite Shavkat Mirziyoyev to G20 summit in Miami
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on December 23, during which the two leaders discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral trade, expanding cooperation, and addressing other issues of mutual interest.
Commenting on the call on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he had held “two wonderful telephone calls” with President Mirziyoyev and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev earlier in the day.
According to Trump, the discussions focused on “the importance of bringing peace to ongoing conflicts, and increased trade and cooperation between our nations.” He described Washington’s relationship with both Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as “spectacular.”
The U.S. President also announced that he plans to extend invitations to Mirziyoyev and Tokayev to attend the G20 summit scheduled to take place in Miami next year.
