Social support spending in Uzbekistan exceeds UZS 14 trillion in 2025
The National Agency for Social Protection has reported how much funding was allocated in Uzbekistan in 2025 to support the population socially.
According to the agency, in the previous year UZS 4 trillion 196 billion was allocated for child benefits and financial assistance to low-income families; UZS 5 trillion 305.4 billion was allocated for social allowances for citizens who do not have the required work record to qualify for a pension; and UZS 2 trillion 035.0 billion was allocated for benefits for children under the age of 18 with disabilities.
Across the country, UZS 773.6 billion was paid to legal representatives who are engaged in caring for children under the age of 18 with disabilities requiring constant care, as well as to single elderly people and persons with disabilities in need of care. In addition, UZS 496.4 billion was paid for one-time birth grants and funeral allowances.
At the same time, UZS 14.6 billion was allocated for financial assistance to individuals released from penal institutions, while a further UZS 80.6 billion was directed to other payments.
