Workplace accidents kill 248 people in Uzbekistan in 2025
In 2025, 248 people were killed in accidents related to work activities in Uzbekistan, according to the Ministry of Employment.

Data from the State Labor Inspectorate show that 849 work-related accidents were investigated and officially recorded nationwide over the past year.
Of these incidents:
- 50 were group accidents;
- 583 resulted in severe consequences;
- 216 ended in fatalities.
As a result of these accidents, 961 people were injured. Among them, 248 people died, 680 sustained serious injuries, and 33 suffered minor injuries. Following these incidents, criminal cases were initiated against 432 officials, while 241 officials were subjected to administrative fines.
The highest number of workplace accidents occurred in the construction sector with 234 cases, followed by light industry with 47 cases and transport with 37 cases.
By region, the largest number of accidents was recorded in Tashkent city – 153 cases. It was followed by Kashkadarya region with 93 cases, Bukhara region with 92 cases, and Andijan region with 75 cases.
