Tashkent leads Central Asia in world’s safest cities ranking
The Numbeo portal has published its ranking of the world’s safest cities based on the results of 2025. According to the ranking, Tashkent took first place among cities in Central Asia. In the global ranking, Tashkent placed 21st.
The list also includes two other Central Asian cities – Astana, ranked 32nd globally, and Almaty, ranked 53rd worldwide.
Top 10 safest cities in the world:
- Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)
- Doha (Qatar)
- Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
- Taipei (Taiwan)
- Sharjah (United Arab Emirates)
- Manama (Bahrain)
- Muscat (Oman)
- Hong Kong (China)
- Chiang Mai (Thailand)
- Yerevan (Armenia)
It is noted that the ranking is based not only on crime levels, but also on factors such as the presence and effectiveness of police services, public safety, and the quality of urban infrastructure. Taken together, these criteria make it possible to assess the real level of safety of the actual living environment.
