U.S. Special Envoy Sergio Gor to visit Uzbekistan
The U.S. President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, is scheduled to visit Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan from February 3 to 7 as part of efforts to expand bilateral cooperation in the region.
According to the announcement, Envoy Gor will hold meetings with senior government officials in both Bishkek and Tashkent to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral ties. The discussions are expected to focus on economic cooperation and broader partnership initiatives.
During his visit to Bishkek, Gor will participate in the B5+1 Business Forum, which brings together representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, alongside business leaders and policymakers. The forum is designed to promote regional economic dialogue and private-sector engagement.
In both capitals, the US envoy is also expected to engage with high-ranking officials to assess prospects for expanding cooperation across a range of sectors.
“The United States is committed to fostering closer economic ties with the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan and developing innovative partnerships that promote stability and prosperity throughout the region,” the statement said.
