Uzbekistan ready to support Gaza’s recovery with housing and infrastructure projects – Shavkat Mirziyoyev
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the inaugural summit of the Peace Council in Washington on February 19, expressing Uzbekistan’s steadfast support for international efforts to restore peace in the Middle East. During his speech, the president announced that Uzbekistan is prepared to contribute significantly to the post-conflict reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The summit, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, brought together delegations from over 20 countries to discuss the stabilization and socioeconomic recovery of the region. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan is ready to assist in the construction of essential infrastructure, including residential buildings, kindergartens, schools, and hospitals.
The president stressed that the establishment of the Peace Council creates a vital platform for the economic and social revival of Gaza. He noted that any external management mechanism must rely on the internal support of the local population to ensure long-term stability.
“I would like to emphasize that Uzbekistan is ready to make a tangible contribution to the construction of residential buildings, kindergartens, schools and hospitals,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev declared.
He further noted that coordinated action by all international parties is necessary to ensure the sustainability of the recovery process and to create the conditions for rapid redevelopment.
“We need to use this historic opportunity to create a New Gaza with a thriving economy and decent living conditions for its population,” the president added.
