Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon inaugurate new Tajik Embassy building in Tashkent
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the new building of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Tashkent on March 26. The event was held as part of the Tajik leader's state visit to Uzbekistan.
The heads of state officially opened the diplomatic mission by cutting a symbolic ribbon. Following the ceremony, they toured the expansive complex, which includes administrative buildings for the embassy and consular department, the ambassador’s residence, and residential quarters designed for diplomats and their families.
At the conclusion of the visit, the presidents signed the Book of Honored Guests and planted a tree on the embassy grounds. This gesture serves as a reaffirmation of the firm commitment of both nations to further strengthening the bonds of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and the evolving alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Earlier today, the two leaders met with media representatives at the Kuksaroy Residence to discuss the outcomes of the first meeting of the Uzbekistan – Tajikistan Supreme Interstate Council. During the briefing, President Mirziyoyev praised Tajikistan’s achievements in maintaining stable economic growth, attracting investment, controlling inflation, and increasing the real income of its population.
