Uzbekistan wins FIFA Series 2026 tournament after penalty shootout victory over Venezuela
The FIFA Series 2026 international football tournament has concluded in Tashkent, with Uzbekistan emerging as champions after defeating Venezuela in a tense final decided by penalties.
The competition featured four national teams – Uzbekistan, Gabon, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela – competing over several matches in the Uzbek capital.
In the final match, Uzbekistan faced Venezuela in a closely contested encounter. Despite several promising chances created by both sides, neither team managed to break the deadlock during regular time.
With the score remaining 0–0, the winner was determined through a penalty shootout. Uzbekistan proved more precise from the spot, securing victory and lifting the tournament trophy.
In another fixture, Gabon overcame Trinidad and Tobago in a penalty shootout following a 2–2 draw in regular time. Gabon edged the shootout 3–2 to claim the win.
Following the conclusion of all matches, Uzbekistan finished at the top of the standings with five points. Venezuela placed second with four points, while Gabon secured third place with two points. Trinidad and Tobago ended the tournament in fourth place with one point.
