President Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev

On March 31, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, who is currently in Uzbekistan on an official visit. At the start of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the head of state.

The discussions focused on the urgent issues of further strengthening the close friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Both parties noted with great satisfaction the active cooperation currently taking place at the levels of parliaments, governments, regions, and business communities.

It was emphasized during the meeting that the joint intergovernmental commission is operating effectively, providing a solid foundation for bilateral ties. Trade turnover between the two nations continues to grow steadily, while cooperation links in industry, energy, transport, ecology, and water management are consistently expanding.

A significant portion of the conversation was dedicated to accelerating ongoing economic projects. Particular attention was paid to establishing new cooperation in the field of rare metals, an area seen as vital for the technological development of both countries. The parties also discussed strategies to further increase tourist flows and expand humanitarian exchange programs.

The dialogue touched upon modern sectors of the economy, with both sides expressing a desire to broaden collaboration in space exploration and the creative economy. These emerging fields are viewed as essential components of the long-term strategic vision for both Tashkent and Astana.

In addition to bilateral initiatives, the parties discussed the importance of thorough preparations for the agendas of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on international and regional policy issues, reaffirming a shared commitment to maintaining stability and prosperity in Central Asia.
