U.S. Embassy Tashkent announces priority visa scheduling for World Cup 2026 fans
The U.S. Embassy in Tashkent has officially launched a specialized visa scheduling procedure for football fans planning to attend the FIFA World Cup 2026. The new system, known as the FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS), is designed to streamline the application process for ticket holders traveling to the United States.
To qualify for a priority appointment, applicants must first ensure they have purchased official match tickets directly through the FIFA website. The process begins with a critical data-matching step: fans must log into their FIFA account to submit an "opt-in" form for FIFA PASS, ensuring that their name and passport details are entered exactly as they appear in their travel documents.
In the second stage of the process, applicants must visit the dedicated Department of State portal to complete the online DS-160 visa application form. Embassy officials stressed that the passport information provided in the DS-160 must be identical to the data submitted to FIFA. Any discrepancies between the two systems may prevent the applicant from unlocking the priority appointment slot.
The final step involves scheduling the interview, uploading a current photograph, and paying the required visa fee. During the scheduling process, applicants must explicitly confirm their status as a FIFA ticket holder to trigger the FIFA PASS system. If the information in the visa system successfully matches the FIFA opt-in form, the applicant will be granted access to the priority appointment calendar.
The U.S. Embassy reminded the public that while FIFA PASS offers an expedited scheduling route, holding a World Cup ticket does not guarantee visa approval. All travelers are required to undergo standard security screening and vetting processes, and applicants must answer all interview questions truthfully to comply with U.S. immigration laws.
