President Mirziyoyev arrives in Astana for Aral Sea rescue fund meeting
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Astana on 21 April for a working visit at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Upon arrival at the capital’s airport, the Shavkat Mirziyoyev was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, alongside other high-ranking officials.
According to the visit program, the Uzbek leader is scheduled to participate in two significant events on 22 April: the Regional Environmental Summit and a meeting of the Council of the Heads of State-Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea. These platforms are expected to bring together regional leaders to discuss shared approaches to climate change, water resource management, and the ongoing ecological restoration of the Aral Sea basin.


During the events, President Mirziyoyev is expected to present his assessments and a strategic vision regarding these ecological issues. Additionally, the president will tour a specialized ecological exhibition featuring national pavilions, which showcases regional innovations and traditional approaches to environmental protection.
