A new electric train service has officially commenced operations in the Fergana Valley, establishing a vital link between the major cities of Andijan, Kokand, Margilan, and Namangan. The project was implemented in accordance with the presidential decree dated December 27, 2025, concerning measures to increase domestic passenger transport via rail by 2030. The initiative aims to enhance transport infrastructure in the densely populated Fergana Valley, providing citizens with a comfortable, safe, and affordable alternative to road transport while significantly increasing passenger capacity in the region.

Spanning a total length of 324 kilometers, this railway ring is designed to bring the provinces of the valley closer together, opening new opportunities for residents, entrepreneurs, and tourists alike. The rolling stock was manufactured at the Tashkent Passenger Carriage Construction and Repair Plant. Consisting of six carriages with a total capacity of 586 seats, the train is capable of reaching speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

Travel on the new service is notably cost–effective. For instance, the ticket price for the Kokand–Margilan route has been set at 15,000 UZS, which is considerably cheaper and more convenient than automobile transport. With the capacity to serve 1,500 passengers daily and nearly 600,000 annually, the service is expected to significantly stimulate economic activity across the territory.

The modern carriages are equipped with climate control systems, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and USB ports for charging electronic devices. Furthermore, the train is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring specialized lifts, spacious seating areas, and adapted restrooms for persons with disabilities. Bicycle racks are also provided to offer passengers greater mobility upon reaching their destinations. International safety standards are strictly maintained through onboard video surveillance and crash–mitigation systems.

During the journey, the president spoke with regional activists about the ongoing transformations in the area. It was emphasized that the new railway loop will elevate the tourism potential of the Fergana Valley to a new level. The president noted the importance of developing service points, hotels, and catering establishments around the stations, which will serve as an additional source of income and employment for the local population.
