Uzbekistan signals strong interest in strengthening partnership with GCC states
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, during a visit to Saudi Arabia to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the regional bloc.

“Reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s strong interest in further strengthening cooperation with the Council,” Saidov wrote on his Telegram channel, adding that both sides noted a “positive momentum” in expanding ties across multiple sectors.
The officials discussed preparations for upcoming joint events and initiatives aimed at boosting cooperation in trade, investment, and transport connectivity.

Both sides expressed readiness to advance practical cooperation as Uzbekistan continues to step up engagement with the Gulf states to attract investment and diversify its economic partnerships.
