Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Kazakhstan for informal OTS summit
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will travel to Kazakhstan on May 15 for a working visit at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The visit centers on the historic city of Turkestan, which is set to host an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
This year’s summit is themed around "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development," reflecting a shared regional focus on modernizing infrastructure and adopting cutting-edge technologies. During the event, the leaders of the member states will discuss ways to broaden multilateral cooperation, with a particular emphasis on trade, investment, transport, and communications. Environmental issues and the practical application of artificial intelligence in governance and industry are also high on the agenda.
Beyond technological collaboration, the heads of state plan to deliberate on pressing international and regional challenges. These discussions are intended to strengthen the strategic partnership between Turkic nations and ensure a coordinated approach to regional security and economic stability.
The summit is expected to conclude with the adoption of the Turkestan Declaration. This document will outline the collective vision of the member states regarding digital transformation and establish a framework for future cooperation in innovation and high-tech development.
