Saida Mirziyoyeva holds talks with prominent financial leaders and politicians in London
Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, held a series of high-level meetings in London with prominent British political figures and global financial executives following the successful listing of the Uzbekistan National Investment Fund (UzNIF).
During talks with Varun Chandra, the British Prime Minister’s Investment Advisor, and Lord John Alderdice, the UK Trade Envoy to Central Asia and Azerbaijan, Mirziyoyeva discussed UzNIF's landmark entry into international capital markets. The officials noted that the successful listing has sparked a significant and continuous increase in interest among British business circles toward investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.

Mirziyoyeva also met with Jenny Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of Franklin Templeton, one of the world's largest asset management firms. Their discussions focused on accelerating capital market development in Uzbekistan, upgrading financial regulatory frameworks, integrating with international clearing systems, and advancing the establishment of the Tashkent International Financial Centre. The two sides reached an agreement to expand strategic cooperation in these areas. According to Mirziyoyeva, Johnson highlighted that Uzbekistan managed to complete the highly complex IPO preparation process within an exceptionally short timeframe, adding that the trading performance of the fund's shares has delivered outstanding results.

Furthering her agenda, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with Julia Hoggett, the Chief Executive Officer of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The conversation centered on the operational success of UzNIF's debut on the LSE platform. They also mapped out future collaboration in sustainable finance, ESG standards, the issuance of green bonds, and training programs aimed at preparing more Uzbek enterprises for global market operations.

Hoggett stated that the UzNIF listing represents the largest IPO on the London Stock Exchange over the last five years, describing it as a clear indicator of Uzbekistan's dynamic economic trajectory. Mirziyoyeva noted that this level of success firmly demonstrates that global institutional investors are witnessing the practical outcomes of the reforms led by the president and place strong trust in the future of the country's economy.
