President Mirziyoyev meets BlackRock executive to expand strategic partnership
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Adebayo Ogunlesi, a member of the Board of Directors and Senior Managing Director of BlackRock, on July 7 to discuss expanding the company's cooperation with Uzbekistan.
According to the presidential press service, the two sides reviewed measures to strengthen their strategic partnership, with particular attention given to the fuel and energy sector. Progress in the implementation of BlackRock's ongoing projects in Uzbekistan was also noted during the meeting.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined several priority areas for future cooperation with the global investment firm. These include expanding collaboration in the privatization process, enhancing Uzbekistan's investment attractiveness, developing the country's financial market, advancing projects in the petrochemical industry, and making joint investments in artificial intelligence technologies.
BlackRock is one of the world's largest investment management companies, providing asset management, investment, and financial advisory services. In 2026, the company's assets under management reached approximately $14 trillion.
