The institute estimates there will be 892,700 births in 2030, 1.016 million in 2040, and 1.234 million in 2050. This would be an increase of 354,500 births, or 40.3%, compared to 2025, according to the forecast.
The Tashkent region is expected to see the highest growth rate at 62%, followed by Tashkent city at 61%. Andijan, Samarkand, and Namangan regions are also projected to have strong growth, at 48.6%, 43.3%, and 42.4%, respectively.
The crude birth rate is expected to dip a little in the medium term, then start rising again. The national rate is forecast to be 21.2 per 1,000 people in 2030, 20.8 per 1,000 in 2040, and 21.9 per 1,000 in 2050.
In 2050, the Surkhandarya region is expected to have the highest birth rate at 24.7 per 1,000 people. The Kashkadarya region will follow at 23.8, with Namangan and Samarkand regions both at 23.1, the Andijan region at 22.9, and Tashkent city at 22.3.
According to the National Committee on Statistics, 879,599 children were born in Uzbekistan in 2025.
