Five new gas fields have been discovered since the beginning of the year, while around 80 wells have already been drilled to depths of up to 6,000 meters and beyond. Another 40 wells are planned by the end of the year.
The plans include exploring prospective areas, particularly deep-lying formations in the Ustyurt region, developing new fields and improving the output of existing wells.
The presentation covered the implementation of two decisions adopted this year to improve the operations of Uzbekneftegaz and address issues related to procurement and production. Officials also reviewed natural gas production figures and measures planned through the end of the year.

The authorities are seeking to introduce more advanced technologies into drilling operations. In the Ustyurt region, several projects are being implemented with foreign partners to drill new wells, reassess geophysical data and improve gas production efficiency.
The financial performance of Uzbekneftegaz and its major subsidiaries was also reviewed. Their combined net profit for the first nine months of the year increased compared with the same period last year. Debt declined following efforts to optimize their loan portfolios, while renegotiating the terms of high-interest loans helped reduce interest expenses.
Separate attention was given to projects aimed at increasing the capacity of the gas transmission system. These include the construction of new trunk gas pipelines and the modernization of compressor stations.
The projects, together with the installation of modern electric motors at several stations, are expected to improve the reliability of gas supplies and save 125 million cubic meters of gas annually. Proposals for financing the projects were also considered.
The meeting also reviewed efforts to address an accident at the Mustaqillikning 25 yilligi gas field. A specialized Chinese company has been brought in to assist with the response. Special machinery and equipment are being mobilized to the site, while preparatory work is under way at locations where wells will be drilled.

Mirziyoyev stressed that strict compliance with safety requirements must be ensured at every stage of the accident response.
