Health Ministry provides info about dominance of omicron strain in Uzbekistan and its symptoms

The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan told which variant of the COVID-19 omicron strain dominates in the country. They also named the symptoms of the most common variant of coronavirus infection.
According to the Ministry of Health, the omicron variant, subtype BA.5, currently dominates in Uzbekistan.
The incubation period is 2-3 days versus 5-6 days for other variants of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
Symptoms:
- pain and sore throat;
- increase in body temperature up to 41°C;
- severe headache and muscle pain;
- weakness, increased fatigue;
- drowsiness;
- conjunctivitis;
- otitis;
- rhinitis and tonsillitis ;
- diarrhea.
In addition, there are cases of severe coughing, chest pain and shortness of breath.
Director of the Zangiata Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 1 Anvar Khusanov said that in 30-40% of cases, lung tissue is damaged, as many patients self-medicate and do not receive professional medical care.
Earlier, it was reported that coronavirus was detected in all regions of Uzbekistan.
