During an inspection of the passenger’s luggage, customs officers found 141 pieces of jewelry, three gold bars and tobacco products that had not been declared.
The jewelry had a combined net weight of 921.37 grams, while the total value of the jewelry and gold bars was estimated at UZS 1.293 billion.
The luggage also contained 120 packs of tobacco products without excise stamps and 90 nicotine snus products.
Authorities have opened a criminal case over the incident, and an investigation is underway.
