Sherzod Asadov: The events in Ukraine do not affect the foreign policy of Uzbekistan
The external course of Uzbekistan is determined by national interests, events in Ukraine cannot influence it.
This was announced on December 1 by the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
“The foreign policy agenda of Uzbekistan is determined based on the interests of our country. It does not depend on any geopolitical events, nor on the geopolitical situation,” Asadov said, commenting on the question of journalists about the possible expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and France and other EU countries against the backdrop of events in Ukraine.
According to Asadov, no countries influence the formation of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy agenda.
“The European Union is one of our main political and economic partners. Support for active interaction in the interests of both sides,” Asadov said.
It should be recalled that on November 21-22, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made an official visit to France, following which agreements were concluded for more than €6 billion.
Earlier, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin commented on the frequent visits of US representatives to Uzbekistan.
