China’s “Sky Trains” are to appear in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is planning to instigate a railway infrastructure project with Chinese partners in Tashkent city, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.
In the international investment forum held in Jizzakh on August 29-30, the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and Beijing Jiufang Grang Move Transportation Equipment Co. Ltd, together with the German-Chinese Cultural Exchange Association, signed a contract on cooperation in the sphere of art and design, reports a “Kun.uz” correspondent.
This agreement is aimed at developing railway system in Uzbekistan, including tourist railway infrastructure in Tashkent city, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.
Particularly, this contract envisages the introduction of monorail, hanging “sky trains”, manufactured by the Beijing Jiufang Grang Move Transportation Equipment Co. Ltd, in the urban transport system in Uzbekistan.
It is also planned to set up a technical service center for five Central Asian country rail-vehicles, establish small excursion trains in Tashkent city and Samarkand region, and build hotels on these territories.
Furthermore, a faculty or educational institution will be set up in one of the existing higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan to train modern engineering and staff management.
