Denis Istomin wins Oracle Challenger Series title
The Oracle Challenger Series, a tournament with a total prize money of $ 300,000 ($ 150,000 per Tour), finished yesterday on September 9, 2018.
Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin, who defeated American Bjorn Fratangelo in the semi-finals, faced another American player Reilly Opelka in the final match of the tournament. Istomin, who is ranked World No. 76 and the number 2 seed in the Oracle Challenger Series Chicago, beat Opelka in the two-set game and became the champion of the contest.
Earlier this week Istomin defeated Marcelo Arevalo of Spain, Tommy Paul of the US and Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium, before reaching the semi-final.
It should be reminded that Denis Istomin has been ranked as high as World No. 33 and has two ATP World Tour titles to his name: Nottingham in 2015 and Chengdu in 2017. Furthermore, he secured the title of champion in the Asian Games 2018 in August.
