Uzbekistan fields three players in women's singles at Wimbledon 2026
Uzbekistan will have strong representation in the women’s singles main draw at Wimbledon 2026, with three tennis players confirmed to compete in the prestigious grass-court tournament.
According to the National Olympic Committee, Kamilla Rakhimova secured her spot directly in the main draw based on her international ranking. She will be joined by Polina Kudermetova and Maria Timofeeva, both of whom successfully advanced through the grueling qualification rounds by winning three consecutive matches each. All three athletes previously represented Russia before switching their sporting citizenship to represent Uzbekistan on the global stage.
Wimbledon, one of the four historic Grand Slam tennis tournaments, is scheduled to take place in London from June 29–July 12. This year's event features a record-breaking total prize pool of 64.2 million pounds sterling, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year. The champions of the men's and women's singles divisions will each take home 3.6 million pounds sterling.
Historically, the finest performance by an Uzbek tennis player at the London Grand Slam belongs to Denis Istomin, who reached the round of 16 in the men's singles draw back in 2012.
