“Black market” in Uzbekistan is active again

In many places, so-called “currency traders” appeared again, Kun.uz sources report.

“They have not been seen in the markets for more than six months and did their business only with their regular clients. Now, they are doing it overtly,” the source says.

The reason why the black market is active again is the rumors about the dollar exchange rate to reach the all-time highest point in its history.

It should be reminded that the Central Bank of Uzbekistan set a new exchange rate of foreign currencies against the Uzbek sum on Monday. The cost of the US dollar increased by 40.28 sums and reached the mark of 8079.28.
