MITC, VEON Group to further improve cooperation
Today, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan Shukhrat Sadikov met with Kjell Morten Johnsen, CEO of the VEON Group, the press service of the MITC reports.
During the meeting, the parties noted the successful experience of Beeline in the mobile market of Uzbekistan, which incessantly introduces new technologies and actively participates in the social life of the country.
Besides, issues of further cooperation on the introduction of modern telecommunication technologies and services, in particular the expansion of the 4G network, were discussed.
The head of VEON Mr. Johnsen, noting the high level of ICT development in Uzbekistan, expressed his intention to further expand the investment program to provide modern telecommunications services.
VEON is a multinational telecommunication services company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It predominantly operates services in the regions of Asia, Africa and Europe. It is the sixth largest mobile network operator in the world by number of subscribers with 214 million customers. Most of the company's revenue comes from Russia (39%) and Italy (31%).
