Man poisons 90 people and tries to cover the case through bribery

It was reported on September 27, 2018 that 90 people became violently ill due to food poisoning at the wedding party in Karshi, Kashkadarya region. The guests were said to have eaten contaminated food.

M. Shukurov, the convict, who prepared a salad for the wedding party at the restaurant "Baxtli oila" (Happy family), was detained on October 13 at 1:15 pm for handing over $500 in bribe to Sh. Najmiyev, an investigator of Karshi city prosecutor's office, for the cancellation of the incitement of criminal proceedings against him.

The Kashkadarya Regional Office for Combating Crimes and Corruption has accused him of trying to bribe the government official and instigated a criminal case under Article 211 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan against Mr. Shukurov.

“Preliminary investigations are under process at the current time,” Kun.uz correspondent quotes the General Prosecutor's Office as saying.
