25 killed in Afghanistan due to helicopter crash
An army helicopter has crashed due to bad weather in the Farah province of Afghanistan, the Afghan media reported.
According to Naser Mahdi, a spokesperson for the governor of the province, there were 25 people on the board including the deputy corps commander of Afghanistan’s western zone and the head of the Farah provincial council, all of whom are reportedly dead.
The helicopter was heading toward Herat province.
The accident occurred at around 9:10 a.m., shortly after the military aircraft took off from the mountainous Anar Dara district.
